Enfamil Neuropro Gentlease has a partially hydrolyzed nonfat milk plus whey protein concentrate (a source of MFGM) with whey to casein ratio of 60:40 whereas Total Comfort and Pro Total Comfort use partially hydrolyzed 100% whey protein.

The difference between whey and casein is that the latter takes more time to be digested while whey is digested quickly by the body.

As carbohydrate sources, Total Comfort and Pro Total Comfort uses corn maltodextrin, sugar, and 1% lactose. In contrast, Neuropro Gentlease is sugar-free and has 80% of corn syrup solids plus 20% lactose.

Similac brands don’t have palm oil among fat sources. Palm oil can be annoying for some babies because it reduces fat and calcium absorption which can lead to hard stools. However, it’s not always the case, many babies drink it and thrive well.

Neuropro Gentlease and Pro Total Comfort have an HMO prebiotic to help digestive health called Fucosyl Lactose (2′-FL); it’s the closest prebiotic to that in breast milk.

« HMOs are special prebiotics found naturally in a mother’s breast milk. They are the most abundant solid ingredient in breast milk after fat and carbohydrates. In breastfed babies, HMOs are scientifically shown to positively affect the microbiome. » says nutritionnews.Abbott

As extra features, Neuropro Gentlease has the milk fat globule membrane (MFGM) that protects against some infectious diseases and promotes brain development, it’s extracted from whey protein concentrate. In contrast, Similac Total Comfort and Pro Total Comfort have the OptiGRO feature which is a blend of DHA, lutein, and vitamin E for the brain, cell, and eye development.

The best one?

In case your baby suffers from constipation or spit-up, 360 Total Care Sensitive will be a good choice because it contains 5 HMO prebiotics to help digestive health and is lactose-reduced by 98%. Moreover, it mixes well. However, the bad thing about it is the price; it’s expensive.

On the other hand, Enfamil Neuropro Gentlease will be a good choice for fussiness and gas because it has a gentle protein and less lactose than standard formulas, also, it’s cheaper than 360 Total Care Sensitive. However, most moms found that Neuropro Gentlease has bad taste and doesn’t mix well.
