Nonfat milk (skim milk) is cow milk where the fat has been removed. Enfamil takes this milk and chops it a little bit in size to be closer to that in breast milk to ease digestion, plus whey protein concentrate solids (soy) which is a source of MFGM (Milk Fat Globule Membrane) found in breast milk and helps your baby’s cognitive development.
Protein :
The ratio of whey-casein in the Enfamil formula is 60:40 . However, I didn’t find the amount of whey-casein ratio for generic Enfamil NeuroPro Gentlease formulas, that’s the problem in generic brands; they don’t give enough information about ingredients.
Generic brands of Enfamil NeuroPro Gentlease chop the whey protein into small pieces plus the intact nonfat milk, and some off-brands use only partially hydrolyzed whey protein. They do the opposite of the Enfamil brand.
Palm Oil :
Parent’s Choice Complete Comfort and Up & Up Complete Comfort don’t use palm oil as a fat source. Thus, if your baby has hard stools or has pain during PM, these two brands will be the best choice.
